College Soccer Pre Season Training


Ok, so we are now well into our pre season training and the team is looking good. I gave the players the rest of the day off today as they are looking a little beaten up.

The shape of the team is coming together and our starting line up is beginning to emerge.

Today we worked on our midfield play both attacking a defensively. The format of our practices are as follows:

0-15 minutes Warm Up and Stretch

15-30mins Technical Work, basic pass and control etc.

30-75 Minutes Main Session (Midfield Work today)
30-75 Minutes Finishing (rest of roster worked on finishing and then we added the midfielders)

75-120 minutes 11 on 11 scrimmage.

We are at the stage were we are balancing working with the players against tiring them out and causing injuries. We felt that by giving them the day and night off that they will come back tomorrow refreshed and raring to go. That’s the theory and we shall see if this plays out in the morning!
