FIFA World Cup Round of 16

OK, so the FIFA World Cup has really taken off now and the Round of 16 games are mouthwatering.

Here are my predictions:

Uruguay will beat S.Korea
USA will beat Ghana
Netherlands will beat Slovakia
Brazil will beat Chile
Argentina will beat Mexico
England will beat Germany
Paraguay will beat Japan
Spain will beat Portugal.

Look out for a possible upset with Chile and Brazil. I have been very impressed by Chile’s fitness, speed and workrate. You never know, they could work their socks off again, frustrate the Brazilians and nick it 1-0.

   I think you could be right about the Brazil vs Chile game, I have been impressed with them as well, it should be a open game. As for England vs Germany it should be a classic but I think the Germans will be too strong. I have been pressed with their ball movement and running on and of the ball. Alot of these games are too hard to call, it’s a toss up. Would I be Un-American to say I think Ghana will win. There is a reason they are they only African team in round of 16. They defend like South Americans and have players with individual skill one on one. They do lack in the final third. But I will be cheering the USA on. Didn’t Japan look really good against the Danes, I hope they continue to attack. Let’s hope every game from now on is a open spectacle.
