If Netherlands wins it will be historical justice for the two WC finals undeservedly lost by the incredible Clockwork Orange team in '74 and '78. If Spain wins it will be just also because of Spain's world-best record and play during the last 3 years. Ironically, it is today's Spain that is the inheritor of the Ajax/Dutch style of the 70s. Their coach then, Rinus Michels, went on to become Barcelona coach, and the two brightest stars, Cruyff and Neeskens, went on to play for Barcelona. After them Barcelona had an almost uninterrupted string of star Dutch players through the 80s and 90s, among them the player and then coach Frank Rijkaard who perfected Barcelona's style of today and groomed the current coach, Pep Guardiola. The Spanish team models its play on Barcelona's, and all games played so far in this WC have had 6 or 7 starters that play for Barcelona.
